  • When you install the Inventory Forecast Hero (IFH) app,

It grabs all the products from your store first.

Then app fetches the sales history from past 60 days, to update the orders of the products.

Typically it takes 1 minute to grab the 1000 products.

Also updating the 1000 orders takes around 1 minute.

Thus, the forecast page results depends upon the number of products available at your store.

  • Inventory Forecasting Hero uses your recent sales history to predict how much you should restock for products that will sell out soon.

    How does it work:

1.Choose the sales timeframe in the past you want the app to use for the prediction

2.Tell the app how many 'Days of stock' you want to keep available on hand.

    3. Tell the app your 'Lead Time'. That is the time that your supplier takes to ship inventory.

    4. The app will show you which products are about to go out of stock during that time and how much you should restock.

  • IFH app can fetch the sales data only from last 60 days.

App first grabs the recent 7 days of orders to display quick forecast results.

Then it starts grabbing the orders for up to 60 days. We do this because grabbing historical orders takes time.

  • You can save these values in App Settings to update the app regarding how long your supplier takes to ship the products (Lead Time) and how many days of inventory you want to keep on hand (Days of stock).

The default 'Lead Time' is 14 days and 'Days of Stock' is 30 days, which is common for all products.

You can update the default from Settings > Forecast Settings

If you want to update the 'Lead Time' & 'Days of Stock' separately for any individual product/variant, you can do this from forecast results page, as shown in this GIF: https://sharing

You can also select multiple products or select all products from page to bulk edit the 'Lead Time' and 'Days of Stock' values. Refer this GIF: https://sharing

  • It is very easy to search a particular product or similar products using the search field.

You just need to search product by Product title, SKU, Variant or Vendor.

    Refer this GIF:

  • You can check the latest inventory of a product under the column 'Inventory in hand'.

This column is shown when you click the toggle option 'Show inventory and revenue'

Note that inventory and orders sync process runs once a day automatically.

To update the latest inventory, you will have to click the Sync button.

  • These features is coming soon in the next phase.

Our tech team is currently working on the 'Purchase Orders'.

For now the forecast is based on the sales during the timeframe that you set.

We are working to add the seasonal factor in forecast results soon.

Regarding Bundle products, we understand that you might customise a Bundle with SKUs of products A & B.

You want the reorder quantity for a Bundle product as a whole, considering inventory of two separate SKUs of different products that makes the bundle.

Sorry, as per current functionality, the app will treat each product/SKU as a separate individual product.

I think you might need to use your Bundles app for this use-case, which is available at Shopify's app store.

  • Days of stock depend on the lead time. But they are not typically the same.

Days of stock = How many days of stock cover do you want to keep on hand? Which depends on many things, but one can primarily consider these three:

    1. Your supplier lead time

    2. Frequency at which you want to re-order stock.

    3. Buffer you want to keep to mitigate any supply chain contingency.

  • Yes, You can, but only if do not want to keep any buffer days for contingency.

  • To look at your experience with your supplier and the external circumstances (holiday seasons, supply chain issues) and add a 10-20% contingency.

At 20% contingency, add 18 days to your lead time and reorder frequency, which is 90 days +18 days=108 days of stock.
